Description
“One” – A Photobook by Jeanne Lehmann
“One” is an evocative, handmade photobook by visual artist Jeanne Lehmann that explores the raw and intimate experiences of womanhood. With 24 carefully curated pages, each image captures a powerful narrative of resilience, light, and strength, honoring the depth of feminine experience in all its facets. Jeanne’s work delves into the themes of cyclical transformation, self-discovery, and the complexity of emotional healing.
The book is crafted in A5 format, with each page featuring unique images printed on 120 g Munken Kristall paper to enhance the visual texture and depth of the artwork. Select pages are layered with a second “skin” of transparent photographs, creating a multi-dimensional experience that invites readers to explore hidden layers. The book is hand bound together with white linen thread in the 5-hole Japanese bookbinding tradition. The book is pierced with a black braided silk suture, piercing each page. The suture serves as a metaphor for the endurance and delicate strength of the female body.
With only 72 limited, hand-numbered editions, “One” is a collector’s piece that offers an exclusive look into Jeanne’s exploration of the feminine spirit. This photobook invites you not only to observe but to feel and connect with each image, making it an enduring testament to the beauty of resilience.
Please be aware that the suture must be cut open for you to enter the book experience. Jeanne recommends either using a small herb knife of a scissor to cut the suture open.
